Downtown had its own late-night talk-show circuit in the 1980s, with stoned, sexy hosts offering an avant-garde alternative to the networks. Meanwhile, “blue” programs enjoyed immunity to FCC decency laws. “I think our show is less prurient than Johnny Carson,” said Al Goldstein. Come judge for yourself!
The program includes material from Midnight Blue, If I Can't Dance, You Can Keep Your Revolution and TV Party. Guests of the talk shows include Arnold Schwarzenegger, Al Lewis, Debbie Harry & Chris Stein, R. Crumb, Tuli Kupferberg, Russ Meyer, Tiny Tim, and more. (Note: This program is not suitable for children.)
Free with museum admission.
