Colombia/Panama. 35mm print. While nine-year-old Manuel is playing a game of soccer, his precious ball is kicked into a minefield. Amid adventures and kids’ games, signs of armed conflict start to appear in the lives of the inhabitants of a village deep in the La Pradera region of the Colombian countryside. An impressive debut by Arbeláez, who tells the story almost entirely from the children’s perspective.
