Summer Pasture
Dirs. Lynn True, Nelson Walker. 2010, 86 mins.
Summer Pasture, a.k.a. A Nomad’s Life, documents the life of a nomadic young family during a period of great uncertainty in Tibet. Locho, his wife, Yama, and their infant daughter, nicknamed Jiatomah (“pale, chubby girl”), spend the summer in eastern Tibet’s Zachukha grasslands—the highest, coldest, poorest, largest, and most remote county in Sichuan Province, China.
