Screening & Live Event
Crimes and Misdemeanors
Introduced by Robert E. Kapsis (editor, Woody Allen: Interviews)
Dir. Woody Allen. 1989, 104 mins. 35mm. With Martin Landau, Mia Farrow, Alan Alda. Woody Allen’s most successful attempt to blend outright comedy, serious drama, and philosophical speculation is this finely wrought, beautifully photographed (by Sven Nykvist) film starring Martin Landau as a doctor with a neurotic mistress and Allen himself as an idealistic documentary filmmaker. The screening will be introduced by Robert E. Kapsis, editor of the illuminating book Woody Allen: Interviews in a newly revised and updated edition (University of Mississippi Press, 2016). The screening will be followed by a book signing in the Moving Image Store.
