This latest documentary whatsit by Robert Greene (Actress) follows actor Kate Lyn Sheil (House of Cards, The Girlfriend Experience) as she prepares to play her most challenging role: the late Christine Chubbuck, a real life Florida newscaster who committed suicide live on-air in 1974. As Kate investigates Chubbuck’s story (long rumored to be an inspiration for the Hollywood film Network), uncovering new clues and information, she becomes increasingly obsessed with her subject. Winner of the Special Jury Prize for Writing at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival, Kate Plays Christine has the rigor of investigative nonfiction and the disquieting style of a true-life mystery.
