Dir. Danae Elon. 2017, 85 mins. DCP. In 2005, Patriarch Irineos of Jerusalem was removed from his duties, accused of selling Church properties to extremist Jewish settlers in the Christian quarters of the old city. Maintaining his innocence, Irineos imprisoned himself in his chambers for the next eleven years, a cell phone and a small window overlooking the street his only connections to the outside world. This riveting documentary revisits the case, involving both the inner sanctum of the Church and the Israeli Secret Service. (This film is in English.)
