Picking up the Marvel superhero Black Panther's story, T'Challa (Chadwick Boseman) inherits the throne of Wakanda, a hidden African nation with superior technological advances and rich in vibranium, a valuable and powerful metal. As T'Challa wrestles with competitors for the throne and the decision about whether to share Wakanda's resources with the rest of the world, he is protected by a group of women with superior skills of their own, including his genius younger sister Shuri (Letitia Wright), who creates the gadgets he uses to defend himself, and Okoye (Danai Gurira), the strong and intimidating head of the royal guard.
