Museum of the Moving Image - Redstone Theater
Dir. Gregg Araki. 1995, 83 mins. 35mm. With Rose McGowan, James Duval, Johnathon Schaech. Disaffected teenage couple Jordan White (James Duval) and Amy Blue (Rose McGowan) pick up the handsome troublemaking hitchhiker “X” and end up in a love triangle on the run in Gregg Araki’s twisted and influential road movie. Passing through quickie marts and drive-in theaters, seedy yet stylish motel rooms and oversaturated clubs, the young punks cannot avoid bizarre encounters and over-the-top violence, narrating it all with a unique slang that is as hilarious as it is profane.
