Museum of the Moving Image - Redstone Theater
Dir. Park Chan-wook. 2013, 99 mins. DCP. With Mia Wasikowska, Nicole Kidman, Matthew Goode. Park Chan-wook’s first English-language film stars Mia Wasikowska as India Stoker, a teenager coping with the sudden death of her father, hostility from her mother (Nicole Kidman), and the sudden arrival of her mysterious uncle Charlie (Matthew Goode). Trapped together in a Nashville mansion, little by little the family unravels in this highly gothic tale that is part family drama, part horror film, with a setting that is at once ethereal, beautiful, and ominous.
