Workshop
Puppetry for TV, Film and Video Workshop

Part of Fall Family Day
Sunday, October 7, 2018, 3:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m.
Museum of the Moving Image - Nam June Paik/HBO Production Lab

Presented by Brooklyn Puppet Conspiracy
Recommended for all ages (children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult)

Brooklyn Puppet Conspiracy will lead this performance workshop about all the necessary elements that go into performing mouth-and-rod, and live-hand puppets for the camera! Participants will learn the stance of the puppeteer and the puppet, how to properly do the mouth-sync and focus the eyes, and how to hold and move the rods. Learn about why the image on the TV monitor looks backwards (when it really isn’t!), and even try out some funny voices. Puppets will be provided to share so everyone will get a chance to play on camera (but you are welcome to bring your own too). Fun for all ages (children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult). Approximately 1 hour.

Tickets: $15 ($11 seniors and students / Free for youth (ages 17 and under) and Museum members at the Film Lover level and above). Order tickets online(Members may contact [email protected] with questions regarding online reservations.)
