Part of A Cher for All Seasons
Saturday, December 22, 2018, 7:00 p.m.
Museum of the Moving Image - Redstone Theater

Dir. George Miller. 1987, 118 mins. 35mm. With Jack Nicholson, Cher, Susan Sarandon, Michelle Pfeiffer. George Miller (Mad Max) adapts John Updike in this riotous, raunchy comedy of bad manners, which finds the uptight community of Eastwick, Rhode Island turned upside down by the arrival of an arriviste new resident (Jack Nicholson) who has snapped up the little town’s landmark property, the Lennox Mansion. Cher plays a widowed sculptor who, along with friends Sarandon and Pfeiffer, falls prey to the crude advances of this mystery man, who seems to have an almost supernatural allure. But when the women tap into the latent arcane forces beneath the Lennox grounds, the stage is set for a malicious, magical war between the sexes.
