Alda’s directorial debut, made while M*A*S*H was still a top-rated series and the actor was a perennial Emmy nominee, was a critical and box-office sleeper hit. An ensemble comedy gloss on the Vivaldi compositions, The Four Seasons follows three couples on seasonal group vacations, their dynamic disrupted when one of the men (Cariou) takes up with a younger woman. Moreno plays the fiery Claudia, an Italian-American artist looking to rekindle the spark in her marriage to a neurotic dentist.
